• Activation of IPv6 on your Cloud Virtual Server.

    To activate IPv6 on your Cloud Virtual Server, login to your CVS via SSH and use the following command.


    dhclient -6 eth0


    After sending this command, a DHCP-Request will be sent to our DHCP-Servers, which will be answered with the corresponding information.


    In order to enable IPv6 automatically upon reboot follow the steps below:


    Debian/Ubuntu:

    1. Edit /etc/network/interfaces

    2. Add iface eth0 inet6 dhcp at the bottom. (The interface name may vary depending on the exact distribution you use. Check with ifconfig or ip link

    3. Save the file

    4. Reboot your server or restart the network service (systemctl restart network.service / systemctl restart networking.service)


    RedHat/CentOS/Fedora:

    1. Edit /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 (The interface name may vary depending on the exact distribution you use. Check with ifconfig or ip link)

    2. Add the following lines (one per line):

    Code
    1. IPV6INIT=yes
    2. DHCPV6C=yes

    3. Save the file

    4. Reboot your server or restart the network service (systemctl restart network.service / systemctl restart networking.service)
